Sandy Pilotte Director, Director
Sandy has served as the preschool’s director since 2009. Previously, she taught the pre-kindergarten class for four years. Sandy has worked in the education field for more than twenty years including counseling, teaching third and fourth grade, and teaching at CCBC. Sandy has a M.Ed. from the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Psychology and Elementary Education from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Sandy and her husband live in Towson with their two boys and dog Butterfly. Her spare time is occupied by attending her sons’ water polo games and additional sporting events. When she does have a quiet moment she enjoys reading, cooking, biking, and swimming. Her favorite home away from home is Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes.

Katie Cooch, Teacher
Katie is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. While at St. Mary’s she studied Psychology and completed their Masters of Arts in Teaching program. After graduation, Katie began work in the preschool at Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills. Katie spent the next seven years at GFS where she taught in the Lower School as a third and fourth grade teacher, coached middle school sports, and was a dorm parent to the upper school boarders. After taking a short break from the classroom to be with her three young children, Katie is beyond excited to join the Central community as an assistant teacher. In her free time, Katie loves to spend time with family, run, read, bake, and needlepoint.
Becky Cottrell | Music TeacherBio
Becky Cottrell, Music Teacher
Becky grew up in Baltimore, Md and attended St. Paul's School for Girls. She went to college at Towson University where she studied Anthropology. After college Becky worked for Outward Bound, Earth Treks, various restaurants, and ran her own in-home daycare. Becky has worked at Central for three years, and is excited to be the new music teacher. She has a loving husband and three children. In her spare time she plays guitar and ukelele, enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga & pilates. She also considers herself somewhat of a foodie, and loves going to hear live music with friends.
Jan Cummings | TeacherBio
Jan Cummings, Teacher
Jan Cummings has been with CPCP since 2010. She is a graduate of University of Georgia (GO DAWGS) and Georgia State University.
Jan has four children, John, Lindsay Joe, and Sara. Both John and Lindsay were engaged while working in Mrs. DeSmit’s Pre-k class.
Jan loves spending time with friends and family, walking, reading, bible study and teaching her 2’s!!!
Judy Cyphers | TeacherBio
Judy Cyphers, Teacher
Judy Cyphers has taught with Central Preschool since 1999. Currently she teaches the 2 year old classes. She has a BA degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University of Maryland.
Judy has taught the Pre-K classes here at CPCP, and served as the Associate Director of Children's Ministries at Central Church. Earlier in her career she taught the 5th grade and was the Intermediate Remedial Reading Teacher for a school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Judy enjoys taking walks with her dog, canoeing and family fun.

Aysha Currie, Teacher
Alysha is an assistant teacher in the 2’s class. She graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a degree in Language Arts Education, and taught high school English and Yearbook in Indiana. She moved to the Baltimore area in 2009. Alysha and her husband, Andrew, have 3 daughters, 2 of which attend Pleasant Plains Elementary School and their youngest is a student here at Central. In her free time, Alysha enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to see family and friends in Indiana, and reading.

Kim DePanfilis, Teacher
Kim DePanfilis, a New Jersey Native, attended the Pennsylvania State University and studied Human Development and Family Studies. Shortly after her days at Penn State (We ARE!!), Kim lived in the Midwest (Milwaukee, WI) for a couple of years and then moved to Baltimore, MD in 2004. Kim, spent years working in marketing and design for several private sector organizations and also created her own small business that assisted other businesses and entrepreneurs with the development of creative marketing materials. From 2009-2011, Kim was blessed with the birth of her two amazing children, Lily and Luke. While raising her children through their younger years, Kim stayed active in her small business and contributed to the Stoneleigh Elementary PTA and was introduced to Central Preschool through her son Luke, who graduated from CPCP.
During the 2017-2018 school year, Kim joined Central Preschool as the Pre-K technology teacher and introduced children to “Beebots”, a floor robot used to teach early programming and coding skills to young children. Her passion and enthusiasm for working with children led her to become the Lead Teacher for the Fantastic Frogs (4 day Pre-K) class.
Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to and playing music (piano), working on her family’s Kindness Rocks project, traveling and contributing to the local community.
Tracey Dieter | TeacherBio
Tracey Dieter, Teacher
Tracey has a BS in Journalism from the University of Maryland with 15 years experience in newspaper design and editing including The St. Petersburg Times (Fl.) and Baltimore Sun. Tracey is the co-lead in the Beary Loveable Bears Class. She has two sons, former preschool graduates, at Rodgers Forge Elementary and Dumbarton Middle school. Tracey enjoys cooking, baking, reading, spending time with her husband and boys in Ocean City and Deep Creek Lake.
Harry Dunn | TeacherBio
Harry Dunn, Teacher
Famous “hat man” Harry Dunn has been with CPCP since 2006. He works "gym themed" lunch bunch on Friday's with Alice Horan.
Over the past twenty years he has worn many hats including auditor for Mercantile bank, substitute teacher, co-pastor, and youth minister. Harry has a BS in math from Towson University, a Bank Administration Degree from the University of Wisconsin where he graduated first in his class out of 1500.
Harry and Patti have 3 children and six grandchildren. In his free time, Harry enjoys studying and teaching the scriptures, volunteering in youth ministry, archery, reading to his grandchildren, wearing silly hats and teaching.
Patti Dunn | TeacherBio
Patti Dunn, Teacher
Patti Dunn is the other half of the beary loveable threes class. She has been with CPCP since 2006. And was a daycare mom for 10 years.
While studying at Towson State University she pursued music and health education. Patti has a 90 hour teaching certificate and has been trained in the creative Curriculum.
In her free time Patti enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, teaching Sunday school, cooking, baking and creating.

Pari Ghorbani, Technology Teacher
Pari joined CPCP this year as the Pre-K technology teacher. She grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a degree in Communications. Pari moved to Baltimore from New York City in 2013 and has spent the last few years raising two sons who are now both in elementary school. In her spare time, Pari enjoys being with friends and family, listening to music, reading, watching sports and managing her fantasy football team.

Lauren Gilberg, Teacher
Lauren was born and raised in Clearwater Florida and moved to Las Vegas in 2006. She received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and an Associates in General Studies from The University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2009. Lauren has taught Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes for the past five years. Previously, she has been the Director for Blooming Place for Kids, a non-profit organization providing services for at risk youth and managed a Head-Start Program. Lauren has also counseled and provided health services including Basic skills training and Psychosocial Rehabilitation. She has recently moved to Maryland and lives in Towson with her husband and three amazing children. Outside of the school setting, she enjoys exploring with her family all that Maryland has to offer, including Museums and the great outdoors. Lauren is thrilled to be working in the Fantastic Frogs classroom and to be apart of such a wonderful learning institution.

Christina Glover, Teacher
Christina was born and raised in the Baltimore area and currently resides in Rodgers Forge with her husband and their sons Zack and Matt, both graduates of CPCP. In late 2019, Christina substituted a few times and decided to try a hand at teaching for the 2019-20 school year. Currently, she is an assistant teaching in the Beautiful Butterflies 2’s class.
When she’s not at Central, she enjoys hiking, reading, taking trips, and spending time with her family.

Lindsay Goodman, Teacher
I have lived in Baltimore for most of my life. I currently live in Baltimore City with my husband, Josh, and two daughters. My oldest, Daly, is in Kindergarten and my youngest, Elly, is in a two's class at Central. I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have taught for 10 years in Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I previously taught at CPCP in a Pre-K class. I took five years off to stay home with my girls and am excited to be back in the classroom. I enjoy going for walks, reading a good book, and being with my family.

Hailey Harvey, Teacher
Hailey is the Assisant Pre-K teacher for the Proud Penguins 4 day program. A native of Pennsylvania, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 2004. Hailey lived in Hawaii and Northern Virginia before settling in Baltimore in 2009. Hailey and her husband Tim have two daughters, Taylor (10) and Nora (5). Hailey was introduced to CPCP through her daughter Nora, and substitute taught before becoming a full-time staff member.
In her free time Hailey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering and serving the local community.

Alice Horan is the fabulous Lunch Bunch coordinator. Previously, she was the 2's lead teacher since 2006. She graduated from Drexel University and has worked as a Children’s Book and Toy Product Evaluator. She has two children.
Alice enjoys movies with friends, traveling and entertaining family.

Michelle Kaufman, Assistant Teacher
Michelle Kaufman is an assistant in the two program and also works as a cosmetologist. She previously worked as an assistant in the Special Education Department in Baltimore County Public Schools and also as an assistant teacher in the 2,3, and 4 year old program at Towson Presbyterian Preschool.
Michelle has two children. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the beach.

I was born and raised in South Carolina and moved to Baltimore in 2011. I attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!) for my undergraduate degree and I graduated from Towson University with my master’s degree in early childhood education. I was previously a Pre-K teacher for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. I have a 1 year old named Henry and a 3 year old named Evie who attends CPCP as well:) In my free time you will find me at the Tot Lot or Trader Joe’s.

Marsha Sullivan, Teacher
Marsha has been a teacher with CPCP since 2010 as a three’s co-lead teacher. Marsha graduated from St. Michaels in Vermont and attended Portland State University for graduate school. Marsha taught 5th grade in Oregon.
In her free time she enjoys hiking, running, reading, skiing and tennis.

Amy was born and raised in Lancaster, PA. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BS in Elementary Education and a concentration in Mathematics. Amy has worked as a 2nd grade Teacher, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland and Junior Acheivement BizTown Director in San Diego. Amy then found her way back into teaching after taking time to be with her amazing children who attend Stoneleigh Elementary and has been a pre-K Teacher for the past 5 years.
Amy loves spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, music and theater, spending time at Chautauqua Institution in New York, and, of course, teaching!
Karen Van Arsdale | TeacherBio
Karen Van Arsdale , Teacher
Karen is a graduate of William Smith College in Geneva, NY where she majored in Sociology and gained certification in elementary education. She also excelled as an athlete in lacrosse and in field hockey while leading both teams to appearances in NCAA championship games. Karen has always possessed a passion for early childhood education and the development of the individual child. In addition to her commitment to raising her two children, Karen has extensive experience teaching at the pre- school and elementary level in Montessori programs. She also has served for several years as a youth and high school lacrosse and field hockey coach. Karen enjoys cooking, hiking, gardening, reading and spending time with her family.

I have been teaching for 25 years in private and Christian schools. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. My career began as a preschool teacher, but over the years, I have taught several different grades (Kindergarten, second grade, and middle school English and History). Now my career has come full circle as I am teaching precious preschool children again! My family and I love attending Central Presbyterian Church, and I am so grateful to be a part of the staff at Central Preschool. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Ben, and daughter, Lydia. We enjoy swimming, traveling, and reading.
